First and foremost, I consider it an honor that each client chooses me to enter their lives --for however long the experience might last. My commitment to clients is driven by my deep experience in the behavioral health field. I have over 15 years of experience in the behavioral health field working in both private practice, and various large behavioral health agencies. My specialties include couples and family therapy, and I am very proud that I am certified in TFCBT, an evidence based treatment model for children and adults with PTSD. I also have extensive training working with families with violence, women’s issues including peri- and post-partum depression and anxiety, the LBGTQ+ population, and families going through divorce and separation. I continue attending trainings focusing on developments in the treatment of families and couples, so that I can provide the best treatment of my clients.

I am trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist.  Marriage and Family Therapists are trained to see problems as “systemic”. The “systemic” philosophy holds that people are not islands, and they are shaped by the histories of their relationships in their lives, both those in which they were engaged, and those they have witnessed. This includes relationships with their family, past generations, culture, community, gender, race and society. As human beings, our views of the present, and how we function within it, is shaped by all of these pieces and I am trained to keep them in mind.

As a therapist, I draw from a narrative perspective and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, utilizing a trauma informed perspective to help you meet your goals. In sessions, I keep the therapist-client relationship in the forefront, and maintain a culture of authenticity and honesty. This process is maintained regardless of whether there is an individual, family or couple sitting across from me. I also believe that utilizing moments of levity and humor is imperative to reaching balance within our lives.

In addition to counseling services, I provide clinical supervision and consultation to other therapists and therapy students. This began over ten years ago and I continue to offer it through my current practice. With over fifteen years of experience in clinical supervision, I remain passionate, and take pride in providing guidance and feedback to my peers as they travel on their own clinical journey.

Outside of work I love embarking on new journeys; whether it is as simple as a new recipe or new movie, visiting a new beach, or listening to new music.
